You will see a few new changes and enhancements in this edition of the Waggoner Cruising Guide. Coverage has been extended to Ketchikan in Southeast Alaska. Those traveling from Prince Rupert to Southeast Alaska or returning will benefit from the updated information for crossing Dixon Entrance and entering the U.S. through U.S Customs and Border Protection in Alaska, or when heading south and clearing through Canada's Border Services Agency in B.C. Procedures have been changing over the years for entering the U.S. and Canada at the Alaska border. There are also resources to consult for weather information for a safe and comfortable crossing. Cruisers to this area will benefit from up-to-date moorage information and new harbor diagrams for Ketchikan.
Marina and harbor diagrams have been re-designed to provide more information for your review before entering a harbor. We have also added a few more marina diagrams for some of the most popular destinations by popular demand.
The question we hear so often is - Where do you suggest we go? We all have different interests when cruising.
Lastly, The Waggoner Cruising Guide will be available as an app for the iPad in spring of 2012. Cruising information changes and we know you want the most up to date information available. The book is printed every year in November. This allows our readers to plan their next summer's cruises during the spring. We start the update cycle in the spring through the early summer for the next print edition and will now make this new information available in our app edition for a smartphone or pad.
Lots of changes, lots of improvements, but with the same dedication to providing you with accurate and reliable information for cruising the area from Olympia, and now to Ketchikan Alaska. Enjoy your time on the water in 2012.
